This website draws together many years work on our in vitro model of the human bladder lining – the “biomimetic urothelium”. On these pages you will find details of the functional characteristics of the tissue and its model with links to the relevant scientific publications from which the data is sourced.
We are an internationally-recognised Centre of Excellence in human urothelial research and over time we hope to develop this website as a scientific resource centre for all things urothelium related.
This tissue model has been developed for commercial applications with the aim of providing more detailed human patient-relevant data for drug development and toxicity testing.
